We cannot go with everything, sometimes we have to eliminate some of them. In Korean, the verb, eliminate, can be translated to 2 verbs, 탈락 and 제거.

탈락

탈락하다 is usually used in games, or tests. If there is any kind of criteria to test that the candidate is appropriate for the next step, it is called 탈락.

그 사람은 반드시 결승전까지 갈 줄 알았는데, 충격적이게도 예선에서 탈락했다.
I was sure that he could go on to the final. Shockingly, he was eliminated in the preliminary round

탈락된 후보들에게는 패자 부활전에 참여할 수 있는 기회가 주어진다.
For the eliminated participants, one more opportunity will be given to them in the consolation round.

지금까지 잘 해 왔는데, 방금 전 미션에서 선곡을 잘못하면서 그녀는 탈락 위기에 놓였다.
She has done well until now, but she is now in danger of elimination because she chose the wrong song.

In examples above, you can change the verb 탈락하다 with 떨어지다.

제거

In other cases, you can use the word, 제거. 제거 can eliminate everything like 얼룩(stain in garments), 악취(bad smell or odor), 반대파(the opposite party) and so on.

새로 나온 청소기는 먼지 뿐만 아니라 진드기도 제거한다.
The new vacuum cleaner can remove not only dusts but also mites.

최종 단계에서 악취를 제거하기 위해 약품을 뿌립니다.
In the final step, we spray this chemical to eliminate the odor.

지워지지 않는 얼룩을 제거하려면 어떻게 해야 하나요?
What should I do to eliminate the indelible stain?

In examples above, you can change the verb 제거하다 with 없애다.
